Time of Your Life (sorry the song is stuck in my head..)

Cali is officially finito. Well, it’s been finito for the past few days, but I have been … eh, busy? Yes. So here you go, folks – my inside tour of LA. I took the above photos while driving around Hollywood in the backseat of my friend’s car. Felt like they needed some explanation so you all weren’t like “WTF? Why did you just post photo-shopped pictures of street signs and pretty little west coast homes?” Well guys, I just thoroughly enjoy sticking my head out of the window of a little Jetta, snapping pic after pic of random shit I thought would turn out good. And yes, I did look like the biggest tourist that has ever passed through LA. Who cares? Will I see those people again? Nope. So all is well, just sorry friends, for dealing with my embarrassing hour of snapping photos in the car and making all of your hair un-cute with my window down. You have my deepest apologies, biffles. (PS- “biffle” is a word my friends and I have created…to explain would start a new post entirely.)
Here is what I wrote while high up in the sky the other nighhh (sorry, had to):
I am currently on my flight back to Dal (as my friends and I abbreve Dallas)(and this second parentheses is necessary… why do I always blog on airplanes??!), on my second vodka cranberry (which is scarily sitting on my laptop due to my choice of sitting in front row with no pull-out tables … please don’t spill!), and here to tell you all about my trip to the city of angels. Los Angeles was amazing. Leaving today was sad…insert tear, frowny face here. I had to leave one of my best friends, Steph Crews, who btw is like THE best singer in Hollywood. You’ll hear her on the radio soon enough, so don’t fret about that. I got to spend 5 amazing days with my four bests – Chandler, Monica, Steph, and Han – waking up to the best peeps in the world, spending my days shopping and driving around with them, and having serious heart to hearts, vodka-style. SO fun. I already absurdly miss the out of this world shopping I got to experience in LA. We spent dollar after dollar daily, whether at the fabulous flea market, on Melrose or at Brandy Melville (my new favorite store). This trip was just amazing. Drama occurred, okay. We dealt with it. Met some rad Disney stars and one Twilight-er. Definitely made my inner Disney dreams come true, hi Sterling Knight (pictured below with us girls), Steph’s boyfriend. Yes, guys, he is from the show “So Random.” Be jeal.
Night 1 was not so entertaining, but rather upsetting/dramatic. Chan and I flew in together and as it became time to collect our luggage (yes, mine was over 50, but the lady was extraordinarily kind and dismissed seeing the extra 4 pounds). Immediately, I see my massive suitcase and then begin looking around for Chan’s. WHERE.IS.IT? It’s McAllen all over again, but for her. Yes, it was lost and put on the following flight. How do airlines mess up so badly?? I really don’t get that whatsoever. I mean, learn how to be able to track a bag or hire people who can put a suitcase on the correct flight. Jeez. Anyway, we find our little Cali girl, Steph, and after much hugs and reminiscing on what has been going on in our lives, it is time to pick up our other two friends, Monica and Hannah. It is official by this point. We are all in California together, at the same time, and expecting the time of our lives. Our wish was granted and we had the most fabulous few days together so here are some photos to show you all how much fun our stay in the town of El Lay (props to Snoop, wow that was embarrassing). Enjoy!

This photo had to have some sort of explanation: so guy on left (red sweatshirt dude) decided to come up to us and sing, "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns & Roses...yeah it happened. Then we meet this delightful creature to our right who is seriously rocking a classic late 90's denim skirt with the knee-highs and boots with the fur. We named him "Boots," obviously.

Well, readers, here I am again…blogging 40,000 feet above you all. I am currently on the way to Los Angeles (yay!) for a good ol’ girls’ weekend with my friends and while there, why not visit the school of my dreams – FIDM? Already have an appointment to tour the campus and pour my heart out to the poor lady who will have to listen to me beg for a spot in their school; trying to show her I have style and the passion. So, cross your fingers, everyone that I am well liked in the FIDM family. The LA part is exciting in itself…obviously. This is embarrassing, well not embarrassing, but just sad – this is my very first trip to the city of celebs. The only time I have even had the privilege to visit Cali was when I was just a doughty little 15 year old that had a volleyball tournament in Orange County. Yes, I used to be a “jock.” I hate that word, especially when describing a female. Men, yes, I suppose it is okay, but it still screams, “I am so strong and muscular, I can beat anyone up that I want to whenever I want.” Un-dateable. Shit. How the hell did I get on a tangent on jocks?? Wow, I must be way more tired/out of it than I thought I was because I already feel this post becoming way, way wordy, ludicrously lengthy and just not even a thrill to read. Oh well. Get ready then, my ravenous readers.
Alrighty, I suppose I will begin with my brilliant yesterday (Wednesday is my lucky day of the week where Joey takes pics of me while Marg watches, yelling “Stop! The light is amazing! Right there. Do not move; you look perfect!” Kind, but hard to do when trying to balance my 5 inch wedge on a rock or some cool ass pose like that – one I can rarely pull off as is. Well, yesterday was an extra special photo shoot. Marg’s very talented mom took our photos! She is the kindest and warmest (and not to mention generous) woman you will ever meet and only the lucky ones get to, I am now an official “one”. It was hilarious, we were out in the front of the apartment building (as you can tell) and after you’ve read Margaret’s most recent “twinsies” blog post of us in our neon get-up, you’ll understand the subsequent statement.  The two of us are figuring out how to pose and trying to remember the inspiration pictures of pairs we found that, of course, we forgot; and, suddenly, Mrs. Shaw goes, “Girls, do the Girl Scout pose.” WTF is the Girl Scout pose, you may be wondering? Same here. Marg and I just stared each other down, confused, wondering what the fudge we were supposed to do and after some slight, rather embarrassing, perplexity on what this pose was, we got it down pat. Go team Marsey. Yes, I just referred to us as Marsey, a mixture of our two names, and a pretty damn cool one if you ask me. It gets rather tiring constantly writing Casey and Margaret this, Casey and Margaret that…this is why nicknames were invented peeps! Or I am just too lazy to type up two short names. Whatevs.
Okay, fast-forwarding from our neon twin shots to discuss myself, you know, because I’m just so conceited like that. Just kidding, seriously – please know I’m just a silly little jokester (or maybe I just sadly think I am…humiliation at its finest if true).  So this outfit I’ve put together just rocks my socks off. Or I should probably say “on,” and not off since I had to borrow Marg’s rad new Docs that are as heavy as a 5-pound weight (hey – workout!), so thick ass socks were a definite necessity since the shoes were too big for my feet. The red J Brands are a recent purchase that was an immediate “hell-to-the-yes” when I saw them. And the fabulous shark tee that shows off my cool yet strange sideline hobby of scuba diving and sharks? Oh, just a wonderful gift from the best mom out there (besides my own, love you!) – Mrs. Shaw, who found it on Etsy. And p.s. – she has the coolest cat like in the world. Okay, besides Sherman. Guess I am now a cat lady.
The shoot was too much fun. Think I am done? HA! You think again, followers. I’m going to continue boring you with my eventful evening. After pics, dinner was non-optional, nor was going anywhere but Mi Cocina. Got a funny post-feast funny story, well not for Joey…sorry! It concerns Marsey and our shopping shenanigans (best word I could come up with that describes us together) that we seem to constantly get into. Marg wanted to stop for “one minute” to this little gem of a place called Another Time & Place. We walk in and I was a hesitant shopper at first, mainly because I was being a rude snob and it didn’t look “worthy” (never will I treat a store that way again because I have now fallen in love). Other reason was I needed to get home to pack for LA! But, of course Marg’s exciting shopping attitude internally talked me into staying and once I saw the striking trinkets, I knew I was going to be leaving this place in the negatives (in my bank account, that is). Then I found the hookah machine and it was just a blast. Yes, we smoked some real legit hookah with the two owners. Classy, eh? But I left with a new vintage-esque bag (each sewn individually in Peru…?), a way cool aqua eyelet bracelet, then found this sweet bright blue beaded necklace with fringe hanging down the bottom. Finally clothes, which were hidden behind the hookah. All I have to say about them is: AMAZING. I found another Barbie dress; although this one is more like Barbie’s little sister (sorry, can’t remember her name and obviously have no internet to Google it on the plane) – short baby pink dress with pockets. Actually, it’s extremely close to what my favorite Spice Girl wore on a day-to-day basis. Guess who? No? Baby Spice. Now I need some platform ked-like shoes, white knee socks, and throw my hair up in two precious little pigtails. Oh. I can’t forget the blow pop. Okay, enough reminiscing on the 90’s. Final purchase: to make my outfit I previously had on even more interesting, I purchased a translucent white ruffle oversize vest. Again, enough said. Too difficult to explain. You will all see these treasures soon.
Okie dokie. I am sure you are all tired of my randomness rambling by now. If you did even finish it, I applaud your dedication and am beyond flattered. And if not, how rude (yes, I just quoted my idols MKA as babies on Full House). But, I am just kidding…you must get used to my amazing sense of humor, guys. I hope everyone’s weekend is as going to be as remarkable as mine will be in LaLaLand. So bare with me with my non-existent posting this week, I will do the best I can.
AHHH. Sorry, I do have a PS for my sis. Marg, I am now obsessed with Neutral Milk Hotel. I burned it onto my computer and I have been listening to it while writing. Best blogging CD out there. Okay, now my bonkers, insane post is finally finito.

Like a Little Fairy

So here I am sitting at our local Borders – blogging (due to a stupid storm two nights ago, my entire neighborhood’s ability to get online has been tampered). Okay, back to the bookstore, need to forget about my home not having the ability to access the Internet. I am looking around at all of the people – some reading books here so they don’t have to purchase it (ahem, my father), some eating Good & Plenty’s while people watching (mom…), one creepazoid in the corner is proudly reading some magazine with a half naked woman on the cover (awkward). Then there are the others. You know, doing business like things on their blackberries or laptops that would go far beyond my head. I feel extraordinarily studious surrounded by all of the people here who prefer reading and typing so intensely that it looks as if it could only be some uber important essay or something. Yes, I like it here.
As you can tell, I am off of work today! Yay! I’ve had quite the afternoon. Woke up around noon (or maybe 1) then had a doctor appointment (yuck), and to make my day especially special, my mom and I went to Buffalo Exchange (this place to bring in your old clothes to get money for them) so I could collect some cash for all of the items that have been hanging on the “you never wear” side of my closet for far too long. I even put my pair of Christian Louboutins in there. Did they take them? NOPE. I was kind of shocked. No, really shocked, and kind of pissed. The have some scuffing on the bottoms, but hello, that happens to any wedge! Well, after I got over that little disappointment, I waited on the girl to go through my belongings and try to salvage anything. This trip to B.E. was not as successful as my other ones. But I did leave with a profit and some new, or rather, old, things – I found a great pair of perfectly worn-in Citizen bell bottoms, a cool vintage tee that’s all holed-up (probably not real vintage but we’ll pretend), and a perfect little pink dress that is way too big for me, but too Barbie-esque to pass up. That’s what a good tailor is for!
I don’t have my usual photographer here today. Margaret and her husband have been in NY and Philly so I have resorted to using some old photos Joey took last photo shoot we did. I stole this dress from Marg…is it not one of the coolest dresses?? It makes me feel like a little fairy, all I need is a wand and my hair in a bun, but the braid will have to do. It is a must have look for summer, too, with the creaminess of it and all. Plus, isn’t the background perfect? We were searching for photo locations and here we are, backs toward traffic. And the lounge chairs definitely added for color effect.
Well, I believe that is all I have to catch you readers up on. Enjoy the remaining Tuesday!

So I have some updates from last night that I have to share with you lovely readers. What did I do tonight? Saw the Hangover 2 ... with a boy. No name will be mentioned, for he may need to do a huge hoopla of things to allow his name to be present on this hugely famous blog. Anyway, skip my sarcasm people, probably not even funny anyway. But, I had *shock* fun. He was a pure gentleman; I mean he opened doors for me (note the plural doors). So kind, I was taken aback. All right, you knew it was coming – movie word vomit. I had been looking forward to seeing this huge motion picture for so long, well, I guess not really that long.(since I only saw the first one not too long ago). I adored it - not very realistic, but who doesn't like seeing three simply hilarious, without realizing it (which adds to the humor), men confused as hell after being roofied...by their own bud. It brought tears to my eyes at points due to my hyena-like laughter at Phil, Stu, and my personal favorite, Alan.
Okay, let's move on to last night, shall we? Hangover II. So here I was, with boy by my side, watching the not-as-funny as the first film, but still equally outrageous (in an extremely entertaining way). I mean, how the hell can anyone manage to get into that much trouble in one city? All I’ve gotta say is I am never hitting up Bangkok. Well, I suppose when I challenge Vegas for my 21st, I may understand the non-memory a tad more, but I will go ahead and assume my pictures will not be as gruesome as the "wolf pack’s". Guess I just need to wait a few more months for my birthday. Gaaa. Such a youngin, but feel so old. Weird? Yes.
Sorry this is such a weird, extremely random, non-fashion post (hey- at least there’s pics!). I am exhausted (no days off until Saturday...going on 11 days at the Ritz) so please excuse the possibly horrible writing I have just shared with you all. My apologies if it is atrocious. My dad has informed me, though, if I were to wake at 7 and go for a jog, drink some coffee, read the paper, life would magically be grand and the fatigue will just POOF! Go away. Yeah, thanks, dad for the advice, but I think I’ll stick to my routine I’ve got going.
Enjoy my "blues" outfit, even though I am feeling pretty good – no jazz song needed to get me past today - you know like the one Elisabeth Shue sang in Adventures in Babysitting (back from the 80s, but a def must watch asap, if you’re in dire need of a pick me up picture). Okay, bad reference. Let’s pretend that didn’t happen. Well, last night was a good one. Hope yours was brilliant as well and have a wonderful Wednesday! I am off to watch some DVR’d Jimmy Kimmel and then … work.
